Founded to serve the entertainment industry’s need for on-screen vehicles, Movie Time Cars specializes in sourcing, supplying, and delivering the exact cars required for films, television shows, photo shoots, commercials, and more.
The company had two existing websites—one for vehicle owners and another for industry professionals. Neither site fully met the needs of its users, prompting the decision to combine the two outdated platforms into a single modern, user-friendly experience.
"Our website serves two main purposes, both equally important to the functionality of our business," said owner Joseph Sargo. "The first is our database, which serves as our main source to store photos and details about not only the vehicles we own but also the network of people who own cars available for film use. The second part of our website is the backend. This is the heart of our process, enabling us to handle scheduling, used to dispatch detailed information to our drivers and give us the structure needed to coordinate multiple shows and dozens of vehicles a week to various locations."
Web Solutions built a new website on its Content Management System, featuring a clear navigation and custom landing pages. The new layout makes it easy for users to search and filter listings, view vehicle images and specs, and request leases. Depending on their account type, users can also submit new listings directly to the database.
"We love the search features," said Sargo. "The search functionality allows us so much efficiency on both ends—for industry professionals as well as our internal staff. The different layers of search functions enables us to search different criteria to hone in on the right car for the right job."
At the core of the redevelopment is a custom application designed specifically for Movie Time Cars. The application includes a robust database for cataloging all vehicles, as well as tools for managing leases, transport, and scheduling. The schedule interface allows staff to view bookings by day, week, or month, with color-coded production types. Daily schedules can be printed or texted directly to drivers.
In addition, the system includes branded email functionality, enabling seamless communication. Users automatically receive emails when listings are approved, and professionals can share listings with colleagues in just a few clicks.
"The Web Solutions team has been so amazing to work with," said Sargo. "They listened to our needs and wants and came up with a game plan. We worked through email and video chats allowing for clear lines of communication throughout the whole process."
